Everyone is going to find their own reason to buy Stampin’ Up! products, or to join Stampin’ Up!. My story started when I went to visit one of my best friends, and it happened to be the same day she was doing a ‘LIVE’ video for her Stampin’ Up! page. She invited me to join her. R’chel said that I could be on camera or not, but she wanted me to play with the products. She set out a workspace for me to craft along. An hour later, the cameras were no longer running, but I was hooked. I was soon off in my own world, improvising changes and designs.
It wasn’t all pretty at first. The first card that I was making on my own, I accidently cut off the corner of my sentiment tag when I ran it through the MINI STAMPIN’ CUT & EMBOSS MACHINE. Then, I over-inked my stamp and pressed way too hard when applying it, and slightly smeared the sentiment that I was trying to put on the tag. I don’t know why I didn’t start over, but I was determined to make it work. ~ No mistakes, just unintentional changes to the design. ~ I put an embellishment over the missing corner of the tag, and then stamped my sentiment (‘Thank you’) ALL over the card. It was art. It was MY art, and I was going to make it work.
You know, I actually had all kinds of fun. I did come away with two other pretty nice cards that day, and an addiction to making new things with Stampin’ Up! products. I was ready to place my order that day (though I did wait a couple of days for SALE-A-Bration to start, to get more free stuff). I also made some new friends (which isn’t easy for me as an introvert) with my friend’s other Stampin’ Up! converts. We all chat regularly on Facebook Messenger, and we are having a party and crafting day at her farm later this month.
Stampin’ Up has become something that I am really excited about, and therefor something that I can talk about and share. It is a creative outlet, when I really needed one. I’m excited every day to be a part of this company.
