I have been setting up my new crafting space in my office area. I don’t know about you, but I always feel a little overwhelmed when setting up a new space in my house. I’m kind of pleased with how it is turning out and will have to post pictures when I am sorted out.
It has been so much fun, and really rewarding because I feel very accomplished. There is so much potential for crafting and I am very excited about that. It also has that new, fresh, completely organized look (which we all know never lasts long). I have a pretty new teal desk (from Wal-Mart) and lots of new Stampin’ Up! stuff from my starter set and first order. If work would give me a break, I’d probably spend a whole day in there just playing with my new things.
What makes up your ideal (or ideal for now) crafting space? I know I am certainly envious of some of the rooms that I have seen on YouTube, but that’s not where my budget is at, even with tons of overtime. However, I am working with a few new pieces and some existing cube organizers and such, to create something I am really happy with.
So, I am an organizing freak. My husband teases that I hoard organizing supplies. I don’t really, but it does seem like I am always trying to find ways to clean and organize my space. I am a Gemini, both super organized and super scattered at the same time. It’s lots of fun! This means that I have cube organizers and office supplies and little things that can be repurposed. I definitely bought a couple of new lamps, because I don’t usually like a lot of light, but for crafting, it is a must.
I like to be able to readily see and reach for things, but also have them out of the way when I don’t need them. I don’t have kids around the house, so that isn’t a consideration. There is a semi-dedicated area where I can set up. It’s not a whole room, but a good space, nonetheless. That being said, those cube organizers, or a good wardrobe cabinet or china cabinet can go a good way to hiding away your supplies when not in use.
